Welcome October!

Hello and Happy October to all of you! How's the weather where you are? It was 54 degrees this morning... brrrrrrrrrr! However, I love fall fashion and all of the fun boots, scarves, and jackets that come along with it. Today I got to wear my new fall jacket that I got at Urban Outfitters.... so fun! ;)

I almost forgot to mention that the nice folks over at That's My Folio, a new website for illustrators so show off their work, choose me as the Featured Artist of the month. Thanks guys!! :D I'm honored to have been chosen.

Here are some recent projects, studio pictures and another nyc moment. Enjoy!

Digital Work
These cupcake toppers, which are FREE printables, were done for my illustration group, We Love To Illustrate.  Please visit our blog to see the rest of the amazing designs by Nina, Bee, Jennifer, Shirley & Cally. We also had a very special guest, Tamara Henderson, who participate with us and also help out with the
super adorable banner. Check it out!

New in The Studio

These paintings are my first three attempts in Gouache. It's all experimental at the moment until I find a medium I'm comfortable working in.

New York City Moment
How do you like my vintage floral hat? ;)

Cool cupcake toppers! Your gouache paintings are looking good! I experimented with gouache the other month and I like it better then acrylic.

Hi Julissa! I love, love, love your cupcake toppers! So much fun and your paintings are looking quite fab, too! I've never used gouache, but I've heard it's good for building up layers. Good luck, you're off to a great start, I think.

Your paintings look great, I am enjoying your blog.
I really love JoSonja for gauche look, they are creamy acrylics, so you can put them on top of each other with out the first layer building up.
I also got a wet palette that i use, it keeps the paints wetter longer. Have fun painting.
